She likes homos, not me is a novel by Japanese Naoto Asahara.

I bought it thinking it was a manga and was a nice surprise to note is was a novel. Since I enjoyed it a lot, I thought as a cool personal project to make a cover illustration for it. On the following pictures you will see my little moodboard/references, and some screenshot of my process. 

Japanese and Spanish translation covers move around a peaceful/romantic relationship and I wanted to give it a different tone, since it's not a pink novel and you can read on the book very serious and necessary topics. Jun is a young and very complex character with emotional burden and the way he builds the relationship with Sae was my inspiration for this "little and happy Sae" dancing around fantasies while he watch.

It's a beautiful book and I loved to make this project 💖
